1. How long was your night? Tell us about it here. Incredibly long! the baby would not stop crying from 9:45 to about 3 AM - Nick K. Extremely long,the baby literally cried all night- Will M As soon as i started to fall asleep the baby would start crying again :( - Shana R. I felt like as soon as I fell asleep the baby was back up. Alissa G. It was a very long night and the baby woke up right after i fell asleep Alysa S. My night wasn't very long. I was only up for an hour with the baby. Emily V. It was long and tiring cause he kept waking up and needing to be fed.-Jocelyn G My night was long and everytime I went to sleep, the baby woke up.-Shea L. I felt like i didn't sleep at all and the baby was up every 5 mintues. -Morgan C. i fell asleep and slept for a couple of hours but them i woke up at 5:22 in the morning from him crying. -Hannah C. My night wasn't long at all and I slept like a baby, thanks for asking. - Kendra It felt very long because the baby kept crying and i had to rock the car seat in my sleep.- Ashley B. 2. What was the most fun part of the project for you? Bringing the baby to your class where i swear you must have programmed the baby to not cry at all - Nick K. Seeing people's reactions to the baby-Will M When i first got the baby and it didn't cry till 3rd period.-Shana R. When I first got the baby. Alissa G. Bringing the baby home. Alysa S. 3. What was the least fun part of the project for you? Getting zero sleep, and having to take the baby in the hallway several times during the day - Nick K. Not being able to sleep AT ALL- Will M Not being able to sleep all night-Shana R. When I was sleeping...or trying to anyway. Alissa G. When i was trying to do homework. Alysa S. Having the baby cry in the middle of school. Emily V. 4. How did your family members react to the baby? My parents said it brought back memories in good and bad ways, and my brother hated it - Nick K. My mom loved it- Will M My mom thought it was annoying and my dogs wanted to use it as a chew toy.-Shana R. They thought it was cute..before it started crying. Alissa G. They didnt really care for it because we already have two. Alysa S They thought it was cute anderrrr excited. Emily V. My mother kept calling it her grandson and my brothers thiought it was creey looking.-Jocelyn G My family enjoyed having a baby in my house. -Shea L. My mom was calling it her granddaughter and talking to it. -Morgan Carolan they just laughed at me they enojoyed it. Hannah C. My family thought the baby was annoying. - Kendra My mom called it her grandson and she wanted to take care of her while i was at the gym. My dad hated it and my mom thought it was cute. -Alexa R.
5. How did your friends and/or coworkers react to the baby? Most of my friends thought it was funny seeing me with the baby carriage, and my boss got a kick out of it - Nick K. They loved it and helped me carry the baby throughout the day, i had like 6 different babysitters during the schoolday My friends liked it becuase they didn't have to take care of it all day like me.-Shana R They loved it..when it wasn't crying. Alissa G. My friends all took care of the baby when it cried. -Shea They liked it when it was quite. Alysa S. They loved it and wanted to help out with it. Emily V. The kept trying to take it and they loved it.-Jocelyn G They all kept trying to hold it and when it would cry they would start laughing at me. -Morgan C. My friends were used to the baby because most of them had it themselves, but they weren't that helpful. - My friends liked it and helped with it a lot. -Alexa R. 6. What specific problems did you encounter with the project? It got in the way of doing things i do on a day to day basis - Nick K. Too much crying - Will M hard to drive and take a shower- Shana R It kept me from doing my daily routine.-Shea It restricted me from doing some of my daily activities like going to the gym. Alissa G. It restricted me from doing things that i do the most which is playing games with family members. Alysa S. It was hard to drive with the baby when it started crying. Emily V. It was hard trying to shower and do my homework.-Jocelyn G I couldn't get anything i wanted done. -Morgan C. trying to do homewrok and take a nap. Hannah C. I didn't have any problems with the project... Except my baby apparently had 3 head support issues... Which didn't happen but whatever. - Kendra I couldn't do what I wanted to do because it was so time consuming. -Alexa R. my biggest problem was that my mom did not let me go to the gym with the baby because she did not want me driving with her- Ashleyb
7. Did you discover that your baby had a pattern of wants/needs? Explain. The baby had a pattern of eating and rocking for hours it seemed - Nick K. Yes,it always wanted to eat for 10 minutes straight - Will M Yes. it always wanted to eat and be rocked.- Shana R Everytime it ate, it needed a diaper change.-Shea Yes. It went: Bottle, Burp, Diaper, Rock, for the most part. Alissa G. Yes. It mostly wanted to eat, be rocked or burped, then changed. Emily V. Yes. It wanted to be fed, then burped, then fed and diaper changed and then rocked to sleep for 40 minutes.-Jocleyn G Yes, the same thing happen to me that happened to Alissa G. -Morgan Carolan yes i had to feed it then change its diaper after i bruped it as well Hannah C. I did notice a pattern with my baby's needs but I don't remember them... Sophie slept for the most part. - Kendra After eating it needed to be rocked forever. -Alexa R. Ash B? yes i knew that after i changed my babies diaper she did not need it changed for a while
8. How realistic did you think this project was? Explain. I thought for the most part it was realistic! "except for the actual messes a real baby would make" as my mom says - Nick K. It was pretty realistic as i barely had any time for myself and all the time went to the baby - Will M
It was pretty realistic becuase you didn't get much time to yourself without having to care for it-Shana R Mentally I thought it was really realistic it just didn't add the financial burden on teen moms. Alissa G. It was pretty realistic when it came down to revolving your day around what the baby needed. Emily V. It was pretty realistic because you had to tend to the baby until it was satisfied just like a real kid.-Jocelyn G I thought it was realistic because you couldn't do anything without having the baby by your side the entire time. -Morgan C. Honestly, I didn't think the project was that realistic but that's okay. I enjoyed the project. - Kendra I think this project was very realistic. -Shea L. Not very realistic because when my little cousin was born she never cried all the things she needed was just handed to her. but the crying noises was realistic.Ashley...the babies are not necessarily newborn...maybe yours was several months old! They are set randomly...
9. What did you learn from taking the baby for 24 hours? I am not fit to raise a child at 16, what so ever - Nick K. To not ever have children - Will M Its hard work that no teen wants to deal with at this age.-Shana R It's a lot of hard work that I don't think any teenager is ready for. Alissa G. It is a lot of hard work and patients when having a baby. Emily V. Its frustrating and you need patience with it.-Jocelyn G Its not easy. -Morgan C I learned that it harder than it looks.-Shea that i dont want kids Hannah Cruz Having the baby for 24 hours was annoying and bothersome (even though she slept the whole time), but I miss Sophie quite a bit. - Kendra I learned that I'm never having kids ever. -Alexa R.One day you will! 10. What advice would you give another student before taking the baby? Be as gentle as you possibly can, pretend as though it's a real child - Nick K. Don't go anywhere - WIll M be patient and try not to get too angry.-Shana R Get a good nights sleep the night before Alissa G. Try to be as patient as possible. Emily V. :) Take deep breaths, and dont get angry.-Jocelyn G This is good advice in most situations, but especially with a baby or child! BREATH- hannah cruz Sleep good the night before you have the baby and dont freak out when it starts to cry. -Morgan C I would advise the next baby-taker to isolate themselves for the whole day they have the baby... It's easier that way. - Kendra Nap after school with the baby. -SheaI love this advice! When it's sleeping in the afternoon try to take a nap because it'll be up all night. -Alexa R. Good advice!
